United Way of Cascade County
- UWCC Announces 2010 Allocations!

United Way of Cascade County is pleased to announce that $383,555 will be allocated to 25 local programs that have demonstrated results and measures in the community impact areas of education, income or health.  In addition, these local service partners will receive $64,376 in donor-designated dollars from the 2009/2010 campaign.  United Way will also disburse $255,231 to other nonprofit organizations designated by donors.  In total, $703,162 is being invested to address human service needs in our community.

United Way service partners and their funding levels are determined by the Allocations Committee and approved by the

United Way
of Cascade County Board of Directors.  The Allocations Committee is comprised of local community volunteers. The committee reviews written proposals from local agencies, listens to agency presentations, and suggests a funding level for each agency based upon the agency’s outcome reporting and results achieved, and the total amount of allocable dollars available.  Funding levels are determined by
United Way
of Cascade County ’s impact areas of Education, Income and Health.  These guidelines have helped the allocations committee when making difficult funding decisions.

Gary Owen, President of United Way of Cascade County , stated “The Allocations Committee did an outstanding job in focusing on the benefits to individuals served and to our community as a whole while keeping in mind our goals in the areas of education, income and health.  With our initial emphasis on community-level outcomes in education, the committee took a hard look at how resources impact the delivery of critical services in our community and did an excellent job in aligning and balancing those strategies.”  Owen continued “human service organizations in our community are facing increased demands and challenging times economically.  The requests for funding far outweighed our available resources - this situation is never easy but the committee strived to ensure that the community dollars entrusted to us are invested in the most effective manner possible.  We sincerely thank them for their thoughtful, diligent effort.”
